How do the Auto Faucet and Flush Valve Turn on/off water?
Auto Turn on Water-
When the auto faucet sensor detects the hands within its sensor range, the Solenoid Valve will suck up the piston to open the Pressure Relief Orifice, making the upper chamber of the Solenoid Valve releases pressure, causing pressure drop which upper chamber and lower chamber were originally with water pressure balance; therefore pressure difference caused as upper chamber with low pressure, lower chamber with high pressure. Under pressure difference, water in lower chamber with high pressure situation will push up the diaphragm (Piston or Diaphragm Piston), then water flows through.
Auto Turn off Water-
When the hands left the auto faucet sensor range, the piston of the Solenoid Valve pushes down to close the Pressure Relief Orifice, rising the water pressure on the upper chamber of the Solenoid Valve. The rising water pressure pushes down the diaphragm (Piston or Diaphragm Piston) to close the water outlet, turning off the water.

3 Kinds of Water Turning on/off Designs, Diaphragm, Piston and Diaphragm Piston, The Features Comparison Sheet is Listed as Below Chart:
Water turn on status | Water turn off status | Maintenance speed | Water turn on/off speed | Water volume | Applicable products | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
diaphragm | Up bending | Back to flat | fast | fast | small | Faucet |
piston | Straight up | Straight down | Normal | slower | large | Flush Valve |
Diaphragm piston | Up bending, pull up piston | Back to flat, Push down piston | fast | fast | large | Flush Valve |
